In 1964, a promising Soviet nuclear physicist, G. Yakovlev, started to work on a recently discovered technology. By 1976 he was appointed by Soviet Academy of Science to be a Scientific Advisor to the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet. There Yakovlev began testing his invention in the engines of the Navy's Battleships and Submarines.

The Soviet Navy doctrine did not allow remote bases for maintenance and repair for military vessels to use during their missions. So, to solve many of the mechanical problems that did arise at sea, the newly developed technology was greatly embraced throughout the Russian Navy. This technology allowed for the maintenance and repair of the engines, gearboxes and pods during normal operations all without disassembly. This was a blessing for the navy mechanics and it allowed the battleships to stay at sea longer without scheduled maintenance at the dock.

|
Later, this technology was adopted by the entire Russian Submarine Fleet, which not only drastically lengthened the time between service, but also reduced energy consumption, friction, vibration and noise. Obviously, reducing noise was critical for specific applications of the submarine fleet.
It has also been applied to submarine hulls as to reduce friction between the metal and water to achieve greater speeds and stealth.
|
In 1992, after the demise of the former USSR, the highly classified technology became available.
CerMet Lab acquired this technology
and gathered the premium scientists and founders under the same roof,
to lead this technology's development and its introduction to the world.

The gun barrel and the projectile can be considered a perfect example to show all of the unique capacities of CERMET. All the necessary conditions are present for the formation of the CERMET coating including; super-high temperatures, friction energy and the interaction of metals of different strengths.
We are very encouraged at the progress our CERMET for Weaponry has made over the years. CERMET’s results are a quick, clear, illustrative, and most importantly, provide a convincing demonstration of the essence of revitalization. In just a few minutes, after firing only several rounds, you are able to observe the amazing results.

CERMET for Weaponry test results of revitalization were examined on different arms; new, worn out, chrome and non-chrome barrels. The expert’s concluded: “CERMET has the ability to remarkably improve the accuracy of any rifled weapon fired
|
CERMET for Weaponry is able to improve the accuracy of a firearm up to 40%. Major results of treatment include: improved projectile accuracy and spin, flatter trajectory, 10 times increased
wear resistance and endurance, of the barrel, maximum killing power for a given ammunition,
and restoration and protection against wear of the barrel bore surface, restoration of the
geometry of the barrel bore (complete obturation).
